About the Event

Celebrating Song in the Town Renowned for Singing

Date to be announced.

Baltimore Art & Music Project proudly presents the third annual a cappella showcase, “Dundalk-appella 3” – featuring nationally renowned, local area singing groups…most with a strong Dundalk connection.

With a wide array of purely vocal musical styles, Dundalk-appella 3 will prove to be another genre-defying evening that inspires and uplifts. The rave reviews from last year's Dundalkappella 2 and the prior year’s inaugural a cappella experience guarantee an amazing evening for the whole family.

Dundalk has a venerable history as a “hot bed” of vocal music talent. The Chorus of the Chesapeake, founded by Dundalk’s own Bob Seay, has garnered two international barbershop championships. The Dundalk Sweet Adelines, co-founded by his wife Helen, also won the women’s top international award. Patapsco High School & Center for the Arts boasts an incredible vocal music program which has won numerous national and local awards, and has produced hundreds of talented musicians and vocalists. “Whole Lotta Harmony,” a group of young women who recently graduated from Patapsco and sing with the Dundalk Sweet Adelines won this year’s prestigious “Rising Star” award from Sweet Adelines International. I could go on.

The impetus behind Dundalk-appella came from two local vocalists who wanted to lift the spirits of the community with song, while demonstrating the many and varied styles of a cappella singing. Kathy Seay (Helen & Bob’s daughter) put the idea into action and created an event that is the buzz of the town. She has gathered together some of the best vocal groups in the Baltimore/DC area to raise money for youth arts programming in Dundalk through the Baltimore Art & Music Project.
